The maknae (youngest) of BigBang, SeungRi has the determination and attitude to do anything. Seen as cocky, SeungRi is sincere and loved by the hyungs. Says he’s shy but has the most to say, especially about his hyungs. ^_^ Getting his start in his hometown of GwangJu in a dancing group, SeungRi moved to Seoul with one dream, to make it big as an idol. SeungRi was also featured on tv show called “Battle Shinhwa” to find the second Shinhwa but was eliminated before the end. This would happen again as SeungRi was actually eliminated before BigBang’s debut but given another chance (along with former trainee SO-1 aka HyunSeung of BEAST). Between the two, SeungRi won out to debut with BigBang.

Stage name means “Victory” which he means he wishes to win the hearts of all his fans. 

Named “Panda” by fans because of the dark circles on his eyes

Daesung

Name: Kang Daesung

Debuted: YG Family 10th Year Concert w/BigBang (2006.8.19)

The smiling angel of BigBang, Daesung along with TOP and SeungRi had the shortest training time in YG Ent. before debuting. Smooth singing voices, Daesung’s vocals let him stand out along with the other members of BigBang. The first of the members to venture out of music into variety starring on shows such as “Family Outing” and “Nigh After Night”, Daesung is also known for his trot vocals in hits such as “Look at me, Gwisoon” and “Big Hit!”. Coming from a shy schoolboy and not having his father’s approval of being a singer in the beginning, Daesung has conquered hard times to continue to stand on the stage with his bandmates.

Thought to have a cold attitude (cool city boy) but is very warm and loving to the members and fans. Has been with YG Ent. since he was 13 years old, featured in many of YG Family songs and MVs. G-Dragon is known as a “genius” as he produces and composes most of BigBang’s songs along with those that were on his highly acclaimed solo album. Controversy follows the leader but he still strives for the best and works to do what he loves, make music.

Stage name comes from name: Ji = G Yong = Dragon

Let’s Meet BigBang! - T.O.P.

T.O.P.

Name: Choi SeungHyun

Birthday: 1987.11.4

Main Rapper, Actor, Composer

Debuted: Tempo (underground rapper); YG Family 10th Year concert w/ BigBang (2006.8.19)

Thoughtful, quiet, rapper-to-have-on-track, but also the jokester of YG Family, T.O.P. is the oldest of BigBang and is the lead rapper. His deep velvet voice makes him distinct in BigBang. Debuted first as an underground rapper by the name of Tempo winning competitions and recognition. Brought into YG Family by GD, TOP’s exterior was much different than how he is now. Slightly chubby, TOP worked out before becoming skinny and entering YG Ent. and debuting with BigBang. TOP has been featured on many songs of Gummy, Uhm Jung Hwa, and other YG Family members and even featured in Red Roc’s MV “Hello” as his first acting job. TOP became well known in the acting world after his role as “Oh Jang Beom” in “Into the Fire” and the sexy assassin “Vick” in “IRIS”

Stage name was orginally supposed to be “Mark” (as suggested by YG himself) but labelmate Se7en gave him the name T.O.P.

Taeyang

Name: Dong YoungBae

Debuted: YG Family 2nd album (2002); YG Family 10th Year Concert w/BigBang (2006.8.19)

Sweet, shy, and seen as the romantic-type in Bigbang, Taeyang has been with YG Family since the age of 12 along with G-dragon. The two were a rap duo (before GD&TOP!) called GDYB (G-Dragon & YB Taekwon) and both were featured in YG Family songs and MV. Taeyang is known as “Little Sean” as he portrayed Sean of JinuSean in the MV “A-Yo”. Love and lives to dance.

Stage name means “sun” in Korean because he shines like the sun. :D
